In 1951, Mamoru Matsumoto opened a small grocery store that would become a local institution. That grocery store, nestled in the small historic town of Haleiwa, expanded their business to start selling shave ice. With the warm weather and perfect surfing waves, Matsumoto shave ice attracts visitors from all around the world to this North Shore hotspot.
